Anna Marie Valerio

Anna Marie Valerio is a seasoned management consultant who specializes in accelerating the leadership development of individuals and teams. She is recognized as a leading practitioner on issues related to gender and leadership. Her areas of expertise include executive coaching, executive assessment, women’s leadership, 360 degree feedback, succession planning, performance management, and global team leadership. A partial list of clients for whom she has consulted includes the following: United Technologies Corporation, Aetna, Becton Dickinson, PepsiCo, IBM, Merck, AIG, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Hershey Corporation, PwC and MetLife.

Her corporate experience includes working in IBM with the CEO’s direct reports to help build worldwide executive leadership capability. Prior to joining IBM, she directed the Organizational Effectiveness function for Sony Electronics, Inc. where she was responsible for talent management initiatives. Prior to joining Sony, Anna Marie directed teams of professionals and managers at Verizon and was engaged in the design, development and implementation of employment and selection tests, employee-opinion surveys, multi-rater feedback surveys, leadership competencies, and the performance management process. She also has experience in staffing/employment and assessment centers.

Anna Marie is the author of two books published by Wiley: Developing Women Leaders: A Guide for Men and Women in Organizations and Executive Coaching: A Guide for HR Professionals (co-authored with Robert J. Lee). Anna Marie co-authored with John Beeson an article in Business Horizons, “The Executive Leadership Imperative: A new perspective on how companies and executives can accelerate the development of women leaders.” Anna Marie received her Ph.D. in Psychology from City University of New York and is a licensed psychologist.
